The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Wednesday, May 24, 2006 Pete G. Hernandez, born Feb. 17, 1917, in Winslow, Ariz., left us on May 16, 2006, in Carson, Calif. He was a war veteran, serving in the Korean War and World War II. He grew up in Mayer, Ariz., and worked at the Iron King Mines for more than 25 years. In 1968 he moved his family to California. He worked at Garrett Air Research and then later he worked at Robert Shaw where he retired in 1982. He loved sports and coached Little League in Prescott for many years. He spent his remaining years doing what he loved to do, working in his garden. He is survived by his wife, Carmen; children, Peter, Roger and wife, Ann, Yvonne and husband, Tim Bullock, Denise, Larry and wife, Cathy Barnes, Victor and wife, Rosemarie Barnes, Don and wife, Rosemary Barnes and Richard; brothers, Tony and wife, Letty and Robert and wife, Gwen; sisters, Carol Medina and Tina Acosta. He has 20 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. The Rosary services will be 7 p.m. Thursday, May 25, 2006, at Ruffner Wakelin. Mass services will be 10 a.m. Friday, May 26, 2006, at Sacred Heart Church. Information provided by survivors. |
