Marcelina (Grijalva) Garcia

Marcelina Garcia, Arizona pioneer, Summoned May 6 (Friday, May 9, 1958)

Mrs. Marcelina Garcia, a native of this community, died of a heart attack in her home on Palm Drive Tuesday.

Mrs. Garcia was born at the base of the Weaver Mountains near Stanton Feb. 19, 1892. She was married to Rudolph Garcia, who died in 1923.

Until recent years, she had always resided in the mining communities in the Stanton-Congress areas.

Surviving are sons Rudolph Jr. of San Manuel, Joseph of San Diego, Adolph of Wickenburg and Fred of Los Angeles; daughters Mrs. Martin Jaime Sr. of Wickenburg and Mrs. Vera Cheatham of Alton, Ill. Her lone surviving brother is Tony Grijalva of Wickenburg. She also leaves 23 grandchildren.

Mrs. Garcia was a Gold Star Mother. Her son George died in 1943 while serving with the armed services in World War II.
