Gordon Edwin Franklin

Gordon Edwin Franklin passed away on July 24, 2009 in Conroe, Texas. He was born July 1, 1932 in Ohio, N.Y., to Raymond and Arlene Franklin.

Gordon proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. After retiring from the USAF, Gordon worked as a Deputy Sheriff and later as a Department of Public Safety officer in Arizona. Most currently, Gordon was the Captain of Security in Louisiana and Texas for the Department of Energy Strategic Petroleum Reserve. Gordon was a lifelong member of the VFW, American Legion, and the National Rifle Association.

He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Raymond and Arlene Franklin, and by his granddaughter, Sarah.

Gordon is survived by his loving wife, Diane Olson of New Waverly, Texas; daughter, Julie Montgomery of Conroe, Texas; sons, Curtis and his wife Tammy Franklin of Moss Bluff, La., Jeffrey and his wife Angie Franklin of Browns Valley, Calif. and son-in-law, Steven Montgomery of Stagecoach, Texas; grandchildren, Jasmin, Lisa, Randi, Gunar, Amanda, and Alexander. An internment for Gordon Edwin Franklin will follow at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va.
