The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Thursday, August 24, 2006 Blanche E. (Bobbi) Butler The world has lost a most precious angel. Bobbi passed away August 20, 2006, in Prescott, Arizona. A former longtime resident of Glendale in Southern California, Bobbi originally hailed from McKeesport, Pennsylvania, where she was born on July 31, 1927. After an early stint in the Army, Bobbi built a long and successful career in advertising, marketing and public relations. Her work adventures took her from top notch ad agencies to Mattel, Rexall Drug, Los Angeles radio station KFWB and eventually to Max Factor in Hollywood, where as the international Marketing Director, she convinced singer Peggy Lee to make a trip to Japan for special performances commemorating the U.S. Bicentennial. Shortly thereafter, she and her life partner, Carlene, packed up pets, plants and furniture and settled in Prescott 12 years ago. Bobbi generously volunteered her time and creative energy to the U.S. Forest Service and the Alzheimer's Association in Prescott. She also sat on the Board of Directors of the local public access station, Channel 13. Both her parents and her siblings predeceased Bobbi in death. She is survived by her partner of 54 years, Carlene Watts of Prescott; her niece, Laura Butler of Los Angeles; her nephew, Ron Lovett of Orange County; and her dear friend, Ann Young of Cypress, California. No services will be held. A private celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Donations may be made in her name to the Arizona Humane Society. Information provided by survivors. |
