A8 Memorial services for Mr. Eldon “Sandy” Cheesbro, 80, who passed away Dec. 24 at his home in Circle City, were held Saturday (Dec. 30) at the Kellis-Draper American Legion Post Hall in Wickenburg. Eldon was born Sept. 30, 1926 in Onsted, Mich. He had worked as Senior Chief Electrical Engineer with Alcan Aluminum Corporation for years before retiring and moving to Arizona in 1984. He had served in the Navy during World War II and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars as well as a former Commander of the Kellis-Draper Post 12 of the American Legion. He volunteered with the Food Bank and Brown Bag Delivery in the Morristown, Circle City and Wittmann areas for years as well as the Soroptimist Thrift Shop in Wickenburg. He is survived by his wife Genevie Cheesbro of Circle City; son Eldon of Congress; daughters Sandra Merten and Karen Chiarella, both of Circle City; brother Richard Malson; sisters Virginia Smith, Alberta Southwell and Arberta Fox - all of Michigan; 10 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. Arrangements were made under the direction of Wickenburg Funeral Home. |
