Mr. John L. MacElroy, age 82, passed away Jan. 15 in Sun City West.

Funeral services were held on Saturday (Jan. 20) at the Yarnell Presbyterian Church with Pastor Paul Jones officiating.

John was born and raised in Worcester, Mass., and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He came to Arizona in 1949 settling in Phoenix where he owned and operated “Jet Products,” a machine shop specializing in aerospace products. He moved to Peeples Valley in 1990 and was an active member of the American Legion Post 79 in Yarnell.

He is survived by his wife Sandra of Peeples Valley; children William MacElroy (Cindy) of Tempe, Rebecca Forrest (Garry) of California, Judy Grothe of Phoenix; step-children Virginia Deskins (Glen) of Oregon and John White (Teresa) of Florida; seven grandchildren Robyn and husband, Ben, Tyler, Ben, Laura, Daniel, Diana, Jon; and one great-grandchild William; sisters Shirley Norris, Debbie Roberts, Karen Cole; nephew Bruce Phillips (Dottie); nieces Leslie and Sheril, and other nieces and nephews.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to American Legion Post #79 in Yarnell.

Arrangements are under the direction of Wickenburg Funeral Home.
