The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ March 7, 2007, p. A13 Maudie Maxine Wiechens - beloved sister, mother, Grammy, and friend - began a new adventure on Feb. 28. She was born the youngest of seven children on Dec. 18, 1929 in Kennet, Mo., to Minnie and Mac Reynolds. She was a woman of substance, style, accomplishment, and hard work as a homemaker, farm wife, boutique owner, realtor, and proprietor of the Owl tree Inn. She loved to travel the world, play bridge, sail, golf, sew, cook, and decorate. But she was most passionate about her family, her faith, and her gardening. She is survived by sisters Thelma and Ruth; four children Don (Jerene), Karen (Gary), Gary (Debby), and Mike; grandson Corbin; great-grandchildren Jordyn, Tayler, Casie and Hayden; numerous nieces and nephews; and friends all over the country. She will be deeply missed, but she is with her grandson Rudd and other loved ones. Services were held Monday, March 5 at Menke Funeral Home in Sun City, Ariz. Donations may be made to Habitat for Humanity, P.O. Box 21117, Wickenburg, AZ 85390. |
