| The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ June 6, 2007, p A8 Rita Mary Scott was born December 29, 1926 in Haverhill, Mass to Aimee Gaudette. Throughout her life she lived in many different places and viewed each one as a new adventure. She lived in Sepulveda and Granada Hills, Calif., and Mulberry, Kans., but her home since 1989 here in Wickenburg, Ariz. She married Robert Boulanger in 1948 and from that union had three children, Wayne (1948), Denise (1954) and Bruce (1955). In 1978 she married John Johnston who preceded her in death in 1993. She married Gene Gutherie in the summer of 1996, who preceded her in death in the winter of the same year, 1996. In 1999 she met and married George William Scott and they had many adventures enjoying retirement together, be it a road trip in the Toyota Chinook to Massachusetts and back, or just tending roses at the Episcopal and Mount Hope Assemble churches in Wickenburg. On May 30, 2007 Rita fell asleep and woke to find herself in the arms of Jesus in Surprise, Ariz., at the age of 80. She is survived by her husband of eight years Wil Scott of Wickenburg; children Wayne, Bruce and Denise; step-son Rich Johnston (Michelle); grandchildren Tracie, Sean, Paul, Josh, David, Eric and Jason. Rita was a faithful member at Mount Hope Assembly since 1992, and services were there on Monday (June 4) with Pastor Duane Middleton officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Wickenburg Funeral Home. |
