The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ June 6, 2007, p A8 Josephine Lind, 83, of Ft. Collins, Colo., passed away on May 27. She is survived by her son Jackson Lind of Mesa, Ariz.; sister Jean Graham of Ft. Scott, Kans., Billie Swope of Cortez, Colo.; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Rev. Hugh J. Lind, and daughter, Nancy Van Reijn. Josephine was born in Pueblo, Colo., on May 31, 1923 of Christian and Belle Sinding. She graduated salutatorian from Fowler Highs School and attended Western State College in Gunnison, Col. She married Hugh J. Lind and they celebrated 60 years of marriage. Known as “Jo” by her friends, she helped establish a MOPS chapter in Ft. Collins in 1981, serving as Titus Woman and Mentor Mom to hundreds of young mothers. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Ft. Collins and loved singing in the church choir. Her hobbies were ceramic, crocheting, knitting, and entertaining friends in her home. A funeral service was held on Thursday (May 31) at first Baptist Church, 900 E. Prospect Ave. in Ft. Collins, Colo., with burial services at Fowler Cemetery in Fowler, Colo. On Saturday (June2) Pastor Mark Hanke officiated at the services. Memorial donation can be made to the MOPS Scholarship Fund, First Baptist Church, Ft. Collins.
