| The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ June 13, 2007, p. B8 Dorothy Elizabeth Kelly McKee went to her final rest on June 9 at the age of 86. Dorothy was born in Galt, Ontario, Canada on January 31, 1921 and came to the United States with her parents at the age of 6 months. Dorothy spent most of her life in Southern California where she raised her children. She was an avid Bingo enthusiast. She could often be found at the Elks Lodge and the American Legion playing Bingo during her many visits to Wickenburg to visit her daughter over the years. Dorothy became a resident of My Father’s Retirement Ranch in June of 2006 and spent the last three months of life under the tender care of Calin of Sunview Estates Homecare in Surprise, where she died peacefully after a long battle with COPD and congestive heart failure. She was preceded in death by two husbands, a daughter, and many, many friends. She is survived by her daughter Melody Rogers of Wickenburg, her son Michael Kelly of Riverside, Calif., six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was a wonderful mother and friend who never had an unkind word for anyone. She will be sorely missed by all. Private services will be held at the Veteran’s Cemetery in Riverside, California. Arrangements are under the direction of David’s Desert Chapel Funeral Home of Wickenburg. |
