| The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona February 8, 2004 Shirley Nelson of Chandler passed away February 1, 2004. Born Shirley Mae Richards on November 13, 1927 in Strong City, Kansas, she was the daughter of Otis N. Richards and Alice Louise Rider. She married Donald E. Nelson on April 2, 1947 in Topeka, Kansas. They moved their family to Arizona in 1961. Twins Donald A. Nelson and Donna A. Nelson Murphy survive their mother and father. Shirley was the grandmother of four and great grandmother of 3. Private services will be held later this month. Contributions may be made in her memory to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E.
