The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona March 11, 2008 Betty Jane Psarros May 19, 1933 - March 9, 2008 Betty Jane Psarros passed peacefully in Phoenix, Arizona on Sunday morning, March 9, 2008. She was born May 19, 1933 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and moved to the Valley of the Sun with her young family in 1957. She is preceded in death by her one true love, husband James Psarros. They were joyfully married for almost 50 years and she has greatly mourned his passing 7 years ago. Also meeting her lovingly in heaven are her dear sisters Jean Stathas and Peggy Kallas and her parents Harry and Agnes Andropoulos. Surviving to miss her but never forget her are her son Gus James Psarros, daughters Paula Ann Sterns, Linda Jean Mitchell, and Jean Mary Killpack, and brother James Andropoulos. Betty was extremely proud of her 7 grandchildren; Bryan Stern, Eric Stern, James Mitchell, Dwight Killpack, James Psarros, Alexandra Killpack, and Sam Psarros. Betty was very proud of them and they were the crowning jewel in her life. They called her "Yiya" and she had a special attachment to all of them. Betty and Jim raised their family in Phoenix where they promoted Indian arts and craft shows, owned a dry cleaning company, and operated a sign making business. They enjoyed traveling and just being together. She taught her children that family was the most important thing. Betty had an inspiring sense of humor. She was always quick to laugh and she easily drew others to her. This is reflected in the wide range of people in Phoenix and Milwaukee who know and love her, including a close circle of many friends, extended family, helpful neighbors, nephews, nieces, and dear godchildren. Betty was the thoughtful "greeting card queen" and never forgot a special occasion, birthday, or anniversary in the lives of people she knew. She could be counted on to do the right thing. Betty enjoyed watching sports...she had a passion for keeping a clean house...and a perfect fun day for her would include a trip to the casino where she often had uncanny luck. Prayers for Betty were said at A. L. Moore Grimshaw Mortuary, 710 West Bethany Home Road on Tuesday, March 11, 2008. Services were at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 1973 East Maryland, Phoenix, Arizona, on Wednesday, March 12. May her memory be eternal. See Also: Paradise Memorial Gardens Cemetery |
