The White Mountain Independent Show Low, Arizona 01/09/2004 Johnnie Thelma Ellison, 83, died Jan. 2, 2004. She was born in Miami, and grew up in the Globe - Miami area; she attended elementary school in Globe and in Pumpkin Center. She graduated high school in Globe. In 1939, Johnnie married Donald N. Ellison in Globe. After serving in the military during WWII, they moved to San Simon where they had a cotton farm for 10 years. They then moved to Ray, then to Snowflake in 1961. Also living in Wickenburg and Alaska for a time before making their home in Taylor. Johnnie was a homemaker all of her life. She also served in the auxiliaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint for many years. Johnnie always raised a big garden and enjoyed canning the vegetables from the harvest. She loved the mountains and always enjoyed camping and fishing trips. She always kept track of her children, and grandchildren remembering each birthday with a special gift. Johnnie is survived by two sons, Glen Ellison of Taylor, Donald Ellison of Lakeside; two daughters, Fran Reidhead of Shumway, Joann Thompson of Safford; one sister, June Boliver of Colorado Springs, Colorado; 15 grandchildren; and 38 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 5 at the Taylor Love Lake Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. See Also: Find A Grave |
