Patricia E. “Pat” Boatman, 71 of Queen Valley, passed away Aug. 8, 2009, at Jones Family Care Home in Mesa. She was born Nov. 21, 1937, in Cottonwood, Arizona, and was a 30 year resident of Kearny before moving to Queen Valley. She was a homemaker, a cook at Buzzy’s Drive-In for 20 years and enjoyed painting, silversmithing, sewing and arts and crafts. She also liked making daily trips to Wal-Mart, shopping, cooking, cleaning, making cards and inspiring her grandchildren. She will be loved and missed very much. Survivors include her husband, Dennis E. Boatman; brothers, Jerry Heydorn, Carl Heydorn and Jimmy Heydorn; four children, Dennis J. (Cheryl) Boatman, Robert Wayne Boatman, Patricia Lynn (Jack) Hayfer, and Kenny (Robin) Boatman Sr. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren; five great granddaughters and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by parents Carl and Fairy Heydorn; brother Waren Heydorn and daughter Karen Boatman. A private family funeral is planned. ---------------------------------- The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Thursday, August 13, 2009 Patricia Elizabeth (Heydorn) Boatman, 71, died Aug. 8, 2009, in Mesa, Ariz. She was born Nov. 21, 1937, in Jerome, Ariz., to Carl and Fairy Heydorn. Patricia attended the Clemenceau Elementary School in Cottonwood, Humboldt Elementary School and Prescott High School. In 1955, she married the love of her life, Dennis Boatman. They made their home in Humboldt until the Iron King Mine closed and they moved to Kearny, Ariz. Upon Dennis' retirement they moved to Queen Valley, Ariz., where she lived at the time of her death. Patricia is survived by her husband; Dennis' three sons, Dennis Jay, Robert Wayne and Kenneth; daughter Lynne Hafer; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers Jerry and Carl Heydorn of Prescott and Jim Heydorn of Tucson. After her children grew up, she spent much time with her artwork. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. Patricia requested no services and burial will take place in the Cottonwood Cemetery.
