Fern Oliver Shelley. Services for Fern Oliver Shelley, 93, will be Saturday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 4th Ward Building, located at 1054 W. 2nd Place (Beverly & 2nd St.), in Mesa.

Fern peacefully passed away Monday, September 8 at her home. Fern is a native Arizonan born April 5, 1910 in Taylor, Arizona. She was the daughter of William Henry Oliver and Maud Vileta Cooper.

Fern was young at heart, loved life and enjoyed new experiences. She loved dancing, golfing, traveling and being with her family. She spent many yeas as a bookkeeper and real estate agent. Her true passion was Genealogy. She dedicated her life to ancestral research and helping countless people find their lineage.

She is preceded in death by three husbands, John Edward Shelley, John Corchis and Orville Andrew Peters; two sons, Raymond Chad and Lorin Gail; and two grandchildren, Evan & Krista Shelley. She is survived by 4 children, Edward, Leon, Doug of Mesa and Karen Fulton (Robert) of Rye, AZ; 16 grandchildren, 31 great-grand children and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation was Friday, September 12th at Meldrum Mortuary, 52 N. Macdonald, Mesa, and one hour prior to the Service. Published in the Arizona Republic on 9/11/2003.
