Alvin Odie Marchbanks, 62, of Cornville died August 2 at his home. He was born September 3, 1946 in Corona, New Mexico, the son of Alvin Olie Marchbanks and Lydia Bell Essry Marchbanks.

He worked for Phoenix Cement and was also a self employed welder. He cowboyed the Verde Valley and Prescott area most of his life. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved the outdoors. A dedicated family man; he was always there for his family and loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mr. Marchbanks is survived by his wife, Shirley Ann Marchbanks his son, Kevin Marchbanks, daughters Sherry Lynn Smart of Cornville and Lydia Marchbanks of California; brother Wheaton Marchbanks, sisters Dorothy Clemens and Marie Marchbanks; sister in law Sharon Marchbanks and brother-in-law Andy Clemens; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 14 at 10 AM in Cottonwood Cemetery.
