The Camp Verde Bugle, Camp Verde, Arizona Tuesday, August 04, 2009 Herbert A. Friedman, 86, of Cottonwood died August 3 peacefully at his home with his family at his side. He was born August 12, 1922 in New York City, New York, the son of Harry and Faye Friedman. He served his country in the Army Air Force during World War II. He was a Quality Control Inspector for Nuclear reactors in New Jersey. Mr. Friedman and his wife retired to Cottonwood five years ago, coming from New York. He is survived by his wife Roselyn whom he married in 1952; sons David (Kim) of Gainesville, Va. and Bruce (Kathy) of Ellicot City, Md.; daughters, Sharon Thompson (Don) of Jeffersonville, Vt. and Karen Maiale (Nicholas) of Sedona; five grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Thursday, August 6 in the Westcott Funeral Home at 10 AM. VFW Post #7400 will provide military honors.
