Mable Ella Noland, 86, of Page Springs, passed away in Cottonwood on July 21, 2009. She was born Oct. 5, 1922, in Clementsville, Idaho, to Clifford and Leonore (Ponton) Ross.

The family moved to Portland, Ore., during World War II and to help the war effort, she became a welder and worked on aircraft carriers at the Swan Island shipyards.

She lived in Kentucky for many years and helped her husband build several of their homes there.

She loved to sew and crochet, and raised beautiful flowers. She loved animals and the outdoors. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years; Charles Noland.

Survivors include her son, Dale Noland (Carol) of Gilbert, Arizona; daughter Shirlee Noland of Brooks, Kentucky; sisters: Betty Powell of Page Springs, Juanita Irving of Emmett, Idaho; Patricia Proebstel of Hermiston, Oregon, and brother Leo (Rusty) Ross of Vancouver, Washington, and five grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.
