A10 Connie Elizabeth Doubet Pittman, 54, formerly of Trivoli, Ill., passed away at 10 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30 at Banner El Dorado Hospice Care Center in Gilbert, Ariz. She was born July 23, 1953 to Merle and Donna Jene Doubet. She married Charles A. Pittman on December 4, 1981 in Point of Pines on the San Carlos Apache Reservation in San Carlos, Ariz. Surviving are her husband Charles of Mesa, Ariz.; parents Merle and Donna Doubet of Morristown, Ariz.; her son Travis Pittman and wife Jennifer of Wahiawa, Hawaii; daughter Amy Treffers, husband Jim, his son Tyler of Phoenix, Ariz.; grandson Erick Lancaster of Cassvilli, Mo.; two brothers John Doubet of Jay, Okla.; George Doubet and his wife Rita of Astoria, Ill.; her sister Dennise Owsley, husband Kevin of Astoria, Ill. Connie graduated from Farmington High School in 1970, completing the four years of study in three years. She was a member of the National Honors Society. Later, she graduated with an RN degree from Illinois Central College in East Peoria, Ill. She worked in the Oncology Department of Methodist Hospital in Peoria, Ill. before moving to the San Carlos Medical Center where she became a flight nurse. She then moved to Mesa, Ariz., and became a trauma nurse at Doctors (Humana) Hospital in Phoenix. She also worked briefly at Scottsdale Osborne Hospital and Thomas Davis Urgent Care Center. She was forced to quit working when her M.S. became too disabling for her to work. She stayed active for several ore years, initiating a support group with the M.S. Society and making a documentary on M.S. for the M.S. Society. She struggled with M.S. for 20 years. Cremation rites have been recorded. Private services were held in Chapel of Banner Mesa Medical Center.
