Our beloved mother passed peacefully into eternity on Saturday, May 12, 2007, at 4:30 p.m. Violet was born on Jan. 8, 1925, in Meek, Alabama, to Thomas and Fleta McLarty.

She grew up on an Alabama cotton farm with brothers Bruce, Gene and Wayne and sisters Avis and Faye.

Violet married and raised six children. In 1956, the family moved from Iowa to Arizona and lived in Prescott, Grand Canyon, Sierra Vista, Tucson, Page and Flagstaff. She loved the southwest, appreciated its unique cultures, and the beauty of the canyons, red rocks, forests and
the snow covered mountians at sunrise.

She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Fleta McLarty; brothers Bruce and Gene McLarty, and brother-in-law Bill Birky.

Violet is survived by her children Judy (Charlie) Lichliter, Terry (Don) Rothery, Linda Martin, John (Desbah) Davison, Tom (Betsy Coffee) Davison, and Cynthia (Tim) Adams.

Our mother will be laid to rest 1 p.m. Friday, May 18, at Flagstaff Citizens Cemetery, 1300 S. San Francisco, Flagstaff, Arizona.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Jensen's Sierra Vista Mortuary.
