Phillip Koehrer Knight

Phillip Koehrer Knight, Phoenix native, born July 28, 1935, died Sept. 26.

Phillip attended West Phoenix High School (1953) and the University of Arizona where he graduated with a degree in Geological Engineering in 1958. He was a Delta Chi.

Phillip had a great love of the outdoors which took him into ranching. He lived at Date Creek Ranch outside Wickenburg for 41 years. His desire to help the environment led to the 1994 Environmental Stewardship Award given by the Arizona Cattlemen’s Association. Also in 1999 he was awarded the Conservationist Award given by the American Fisheries Society.

Phillip is survived by his wife Karin; his sister Jean Markley of Tucson; his daughter Kimberley Knight and husband Stefan; his sons, Eric Knight and wife Claudia, Scott Knight and wife Delphine, six grandchildren, three nieces and one nephew.

Memorial services will be held at Grace Lutheran Church 1124 N. Third St. Phoenix, Saturday (Oct. 6) at 1 p.m.
