The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ October 10, 2007, p. A15. Charles “Chuck” Ransom, Sr., age 74, passed away Oct. 6. Memorial services will be held Thursday (Oct. 11) at 10 a.m. at Wickenburg Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Hull of Faith Baptist Church conducting. Chuck was born in De Kalb County, Ind., and raised in the Ft. Wayne area. He attended schools there and later served in the U.S. Army. Following his military service he returned home and operated various businesses, one of which was an auto garage. One of the things that Chuck really enjoyed was antique cars and car racing. He later owned and operated the Turtle Town Inn in Churubusco, Ind., for some 15 years. Chuck came to Wickenburg in 1997. He was active in the community as a member of Cops Who Care, Hassayampa River Yacht Club, Wings of Grace and Classy Classic Car Club. Chuck enjoyed country music and was an avid car-racing fan. He is survived by his wife Shirley of Wickenburg; son Charles Ransom, Jr. of Churubusco, Ind., and daughters Charlotte Baker and Dawn Ransom both of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; brothers James Ransom (Gail) of Phoenix, Jerry Ransom (Rita) of Churubusco, Ind.; and a sister Patricia Neukom (Don) of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; two grandchildren and four great grandchildren. The family suggests memorial contributions by made in Chuck’s memory to Wings of Grace at 35325 U.S. Hwy 93 Wickenburg, AZ 85390. Arrangements are under the direction of Wickenburg Funeral Home. |
