Fred H. Pratt, 83, of Scottsdale, died at home April 23, 2004, after a long illness. Born on April 18, 1921 in Eugene, Oregon.

Fred grew up in So. Beloit, Illinois, and was a USN Radioman in the Philippines in WWII. As a coach, teacher, and administrator in Illinois (Elizabeth, Freeport) and for 24 years in the Scottsdale School District (Tavan, Saguaro, Arcadia), he enjoyed working with students and the influence he had on many of their lives. He equally enjoyed the 10 years after retiring from education, when he worked as a ranger at Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming.

Fred is survived by Edith, his wife of 53 years; son, Chuck (Elizabeth) and grandson Morgan of Arlington, Texas; daughters, Jane of Brooklyn, NY and Sue of Flagstaff, AZ; brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.

A Time of Remembrance was held on Monday, April 26 at Messinger Mortuary, 7601 E. Indian School Rd., Scottsdale. Other services were held in Illinois.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local Parkinson's Foundation, Hospice or charity of your choice.
