| Vego Petersen (July 29, 1922 - August 18, 2009) Vego Lawrence "Pete" Petersen, 87, of Linden passed away August 18, 2009 at Hospice Compassus in Lakeside. Vego was born July 29, 1922 in Pinedale to Lawrence and Dorothy Petersen. He attended elementary school in Linden and high school in Snowflake. Vego worked the log woods in Arizona and New Mexico. On December 4, 1949 he married Renetta Wanda Daniel. He later started his own business, Pete's Blade and Backhoe Service. Vego retired in 1987 and moved from Show Low back to the family homestead in Linden. He enjoyed running heavy equipment, traveling, and going to auctions. Vego was a member of the High Country Church of Christ. Vego is survived by his wife of 60 years, Wanda Petersen; daughters, Deleth "Dee" (Kay) Perkins of Linden, Beverly (Jeff) Balk of Show Low, Holly (Marion) Hatch of Taylor; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Darwin (Bobbie)Petersen of Payson. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, August 24, 2009 at the High Country Church of Christ, 3201 E. Deuce of Clubs in Show Low. Viewing will be held Sunday evening from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Owens Livingston Mortuary, 320 N. 9th Street in Show Low and 1 hour prior to services at the church Monday morning. Interment will be in the Show Low Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to White Mountain Hospice Foundation, 1789 W. Commerce, Lakeside, AZ 85929.
