Younda Gertrude (Major) Wolfe

Mrs. Younda Gertrude Wolfe, 81, died at the Arizona Pioneer Home Saturday July 24, 1971, where she had been a guest since April 22, 1961.

She was born in Prescott on February 24, 1890 and lived in this area all of her life. She attended Prescott public schools and after high school she taught here in Prescott for several years. She was a former member of the Episcopal Church in Prescott.

Survivors include one son, Floyd Allen of Glendale; three sisters, Mrs. W.R. Fitzgerald, and Mrs. Grace Boren of Prescott and Mrs. Ruth Born of Cottonwood; one brother, Paul Major of Clifton: 19 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 27, 1971 at 10 a.m. at the Wescott Funeral Home in Cottonwood, Arizona with burial in Valley View Cemetery at Clarkdale. Pastor R.H. Zimmerman will officiate. Memory Chapel is in charge of the local arrangements.

She married (1) Mr. Allen, he died and then she married (2) Ray Wolf in 1931 in Yavapai county, Arizona. In the 1930 United States Federal Census Younda is living in Clarkdale, Yavapai, Arizona and is 40 years old. She is a widow and is a cook and managing a boarding house. She has a son William A. Allen 22, Dave V. Allen 19, Floyd O. Allen 17, and H. Frank Allen 12 years old.
