| The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ March 29, 2006, p.B7 Bruce E. Besmer Memorial services will be held Monday, April 3 at 2 p.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church for Bruce E. Besmer, age 80, who passed away March 25 in Surprise. Bruce was born May 21, 1925 in Toledo, Ohio. He was raised in Grand Rapids, Mich., and attended schools there. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1943, serving in the Pacific. Following his military service, he returned to Grand Rapids where he owned and operated a floor covering business for over 40 years. He retired in 1985, and he and his wife began wintering in Wickenburg. They moved here permanently in 2000. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Wickenburg. Survivors include his wife Hazel of Wickenburg; stepdaughters Vivian Clinck of Windsor, Ontario, Canada; Karen Brumit of Grand Rapids, Mich.; sister Betty Oudbier of Grand Rapids; grandchildren Kelly Malcom of Windsor, Ontario; Kim Kupieki of San Francisco, Calif.; Cheryl Blahnik of El Paso, Texas; Bob Brumit, Sarah Besmer, Josh Besmer all of Grand Rapids; and Mandi Besmer of Florida; and eight great-grandchildren.
