Lucile (Neilson) Johnson

Lucile Johnson, 88, of Prescott, Ariz., passed away quietly at the Arizona Pioneers’ Home Sunday, Dec. 16, 2007.

She was the eldest daughter of Leslie Neilson and Lucy Eagar Neilson. Born April 6, 1919, in Tempe, Ariz

In 1939 while living in Chino Valley, she met B. Lavern (Vern) Johnson at a church dance in Prescott. After a short courtship, they married in the Mesa Arizona LDS Temple April 19, 1940. Lucile was a stay-at-home mother raising six children and being active in Prescott Wards of the LDS Church.

Lucile is survived by her six children, David (Marbella) Johnson of Mexico City, Carl (Jacqueline) Johnson of Paulden, Ariz., Ivan (Jennifer) of Mesa, Ariz., Dona (Clarence) Cooper of Salem, Ore., Coralee Johnson of Prescott, Ariz., and Bruce (Cynthia) Johnson of Peoria, Ariz.; sister Helen Densmore of Prescott, Ariz.; brother Tom Neilson of Camp Verde, Ariz.

Viewing and family visitation will be 9 a.m. Friday, Dec. 21, 2007, in the Ruth Street LDS Church Relief Society room, with the funeral service at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Prescott, Ariz.

Services entrusted to Hampton Funeral Home.
