William Maxwell
(Died April 1, 2009)

William Maxwell died peacefully Wednesday, April 1, 2009 in Mesa, Arizona, surrounded by many members of his family. He was 78 years old.

The son of the late Archibald Hodge and Rosalie (Slade) Maxwell, he married the former, Anna Lou (Ramsey). They celebrated 54 years together as husband and wife prior to her passing. He was a member of the Snowflake First Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

William was an avid outdoorsman and had special ties to Nutrioso, Arizona, frequently referring to it as "God's Country." He truly felt a great love sense of peace for that area. William's greatest joys came from being with his family, as they meant everything to him.

He is survived by 3 children: Debbie Maxwell Paxman, Jackie Maxwell, Craig Maxwell; 2 sisters: Nelda Rosalie "Babe" Naylor, Glenna Uvonne "Bonnie" West; 21 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Along with his parents and his beloved wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Ricky K. Maxwell and a daughter, Donna Lou Maxwell Goodman.

His funeral service will begin 10:00 A.M., Monday, April 6, 2009 at Snowflake's historic Main Street Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where the viewing will begin 1 hour prior.

Interment will follow at the R.V. "Mike" Ramsay Memorial Cemetery in Snowflake. This good man will be missed by all who knew him and called him "friend."
