Betty Rae (Branson) Mills

Betty Rae Branson Mills, 79, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother died peacefully Nov. 13, 2005 in Snowflake.

She was born on Christmas Eve 1925, in Delores, Colorado to Millard F. Branson and Agnes Alberta Crapo Branson.

Her father was a blacksmith and a logger so she was raised in the logging towns of southern Colorado and the White Mountains of Arizona. She graduated as Valedictorian from Snowflake High School, and attended Arizona State University, majoring in business. She worked as a payroll and cost accountant for the McNary Lumber Mill in the late 40s, when she met her husband of 59 years, Otto L. Mills. They lived in Snowflake for the past 41 years, and have raised a family of four children and 24 grandchildren.

Betty began working as a secretary for the Snowflake schools in the early '60s and eventually became the District business manager. She worked a total of 25 years for the district, and enjoyed her many associations there. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions throughout her life. Betty had many interest. She loved reading, handwork, traveling, camping, painting and especially her family. Her life was one of service and devotion to her family and all with whom she associated. She will be greatly missed.

Betty is survived by her husband, Otto L. Mills; daughters, Dianne (Paul) Reynolds and Patricia (Stephen) Reidhead; sons, Daniel (Jana) Mills and Steven (Shelley) Mills all of Snowflake; 23 grandchildren, Paul, Susanne, Becky, Raechel, Allen, Melissa, Kevin, Jeffrey, Jennifer, Timothy, Matthew, Brian, David, Michelle, Shawna, Scott, Holly, Julie, Nathan, Melanie, Eric, Shannon and Brent; 19 great grandchildren, Maria, Jessica, Trey, Porter, Adrianna, Maren, Tiffany, Joshua, Tricia, Stephen, Mason, Tyler, Marcus, Jaxon, Kaden, Cardston, Madilyn, Hailey and Tanner.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Edna Mae Ramsey; brother, Max Walter Branson and granddaughter, Patricia Deanna Raynolds.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 19 at the Snowflake Main Street Chapel. There will be a viewing from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18 at Owens Mortuary in Snowflake and one-hour prior to services at the church.

Interment will be in the R.V. "Mike" Ramsay Memorial Cemetery in Snowflake.
