Betty Lou (Hendricks) Reed

Betty Lou Reed, age 71, died Dec. 3, 2004, at home in Snowflake.

Betty was born in Salem, Idaho. She grew up in Southeastern Idaho and graduated from Snake River High School near Blackfoot. She then went to work as a bank teller and in 1955 she married Ronald Reed in the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They lived in Ft. Smith, Arkansas, for 6 months while Ronald completed his enlistment in the service. They then moved to Provo, Utah, so he could complete his education at B.Y.U.

In 1957, upon completion, they moved to Arizona and made Snowflake their home. Betty was a life long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various capacities in the church. She loved serving wherever she was asked to serve. First and foremost Betty was a wife and mother. She loved being with her family and always enjoyed the family vacation trip back to Idaho where she enjoyed going fishing.

Betty is survived by her husband, Ronald E. Reed of Snowflake; three sons, Rodney (Charlene) Reed of Mesa, Russell (Neena) Reed of Providence, Utah, and Randal (Peggy) Reed of Snowflake; two daughters, Michelle (Michael) Dontas of White Mountain Lake, and Cassanda (Scott) Stevens of Gilbert; two brothers, Jack E. Hendricks of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Robert H. Hendricks of Blackfoot, Idaho; three sisters, Zella Weaver of Blackfoot, Idaho, Norma Kirby of Mesa, and Thelda Hendricks of Blackfoot, Idaho; and 19 grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday Dec. 9 at the Snowflake Main Street Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8 at Owens Mortuary in Snowflake and one hour prior to services on Thursday.

Interment will be in the R.V. "Mike" Ramsay Memorial Cemetery in Snowflake.
