The White Mountain Independent Show Low, AZ 02/07/2006 Darlene Webb Smith, 59, died Jan. 31, 2006 at her home in Yuma. She was born Nov. 28, 1946 in Kanab, Utah to Edward Burr and Amy Gwendolyn Porter Webb. The family moved to Joseph City where she attended elementary school. She attended and graduated from Holbrook High School in 1964, she then attended NAU for two years. It was there that she met Stephen V. Smith from Snowflake. They were married in the Mesa Arizona Temple in August 1966. They made their home in Flagstaff. They also lived in Mesa, Douglas, Thatcher and Snowflake before moving to Yuma six years ago. While living in Snowflake, Darlene was an office manager at McNary Clinic and later at Snowflake Medical Center for several years until they moved to Yuma. She was a life long active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints where she served in various capacities including Relief Society President, Primary President, Ward Missionary and Music Director. Her special hobbies were her grandchildren and reading. Darlene is survived by her husband, Stephen V. Smith of Yuma; two sons, Stephen (Annette) Smith of Rexburg, Idaho and Michael (Jerusha) Smith of Nampa, Idaho; two daughters, Angela (Richard) Bean of Meridian, Idaho and April (Tom) Goodman of Camp Verde; 15 grandchildren and a daughter-in-law, Lorna deCarvalho, and her spouse, Richard, of Bellville, Texas; three brothers, Edwin Webb of Holbrook, LeRoy Webb of Clinton, Utah and Kelcey Webb of Cheyenne, Wyoming and a sister, Samantha Farnsworth of Ft. Thomas. She was preceded in death by one daughter Amy in 1967 and one son, Patrick M. in 2002. Graveside services will be held at 11a.m. Monday Feb. 6 at the RV Mike Ramsay Memorial Cemetery in Snowflake. Owens Mortuary of Snowflake handled the arrangements. See Also: Find A Grave |
