| S. Renee Roozen, 74, of Fountain Hills, a loving wife, mother and nana, passed away Oct. 4, 2007 at Scottsdale Healthcare Shea hospital. She was born Dec. 6, 1932 in Los Angeles, Calif. She taught for 29 years and was a concert pianist and vocalist in California. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church, Fountain Hills. Mrs. Roozen is survived by her husband, Keith Roozen of Fountain Hills; three sons, Greg Girkins of Oceanside, Calif., Kevin Girkins of Burke, Va., and Todd Girkins of Morrison, Colo.; a daughter, Kim Hardy of Palmdale, Calif.; a brother Donn Derfelt of Kingsburg, Calif.; and 11 grandchildren. A private family service is planned. Interment will be at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 2929 S. 48th Street, Tempe, AZ 85282. Published October 10, 2007, in the Fountain Hills Times. |
