Former Fountain Hills resident John N. “Chris” Christianson passed away Aug. 14, 2007. He was born Aug. 22, 1926 in Minneapolis, Minn. to John and Iris Christianson. John graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a Juris Doctor degree. After relocating to Scottsdale in 1960, he was a vice president of Valley National Bank in the credit card division. John spent the majority of his working life as a motivational speaker, author and humorist. His beloved wife of almost 50 years, Marilyn June Christianson, predeceased him. He is survived by daughters: Lisa Christianson, Linda Christianson and Lori Alley; son, Mark Christianson; son-in-law, Douglas Alley; and three grandchildren, Brooke, Brittany and Brandon Alley. John was a gracious man with a heart of gold and a gentle and loving spirit who leaves a legacy of compassion and integrity. He taught his children the importance of family and gave them the true gift of laughter. John was colorful and quirky and will never be forgotten. It is a great comfort to those left behind that his spirit is soaring without pain. At John’s request, no services are planned.
