Glenn E. Greene

Glenn E. Greene Jr., born June 21, 1927 in Rocky River, Ohio, died Monday, Aug. 13, 2007 at Hospice of the Valley Sherman House after a long battle with cancer.

Mr. Greene was a resident of Scottsdale. He worked 40 years as a steelworker for American Can Co. in Chicago. He was past president of the Steelworkers Union Local 1478, District 31. He retired in 1990.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a Seaman First Class. He was a member of the American Legion, Illinois Chapter 111.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Loretta; beloved children, Diane Greene, Susan Greene Anderson (Don), Carol Walker (David), Glenn D. Greene (Susan) and grandchildren, Steve Dickens, Alicia and Sarah Walker; beloved brother, David R. Greene (Patricia); and many dear friends.

A memorial service for Mr. Greene was held Thursday, Aug. 16, 2007, at Messinger Fountain Hills Mortuary, 12065 Saguaro Blvd., Fountain Hills.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans or the American Cancer Society.
