Gil Knoll

Gil Knoll, former pioneer builder and long-time resident of Fountain Hills, passed away Friday evening, July 13, during a short stay at the Sherman Hospice House on the campus of Mayo Clinic Hospital in Phoenix.

Gil built more than 100 homes in the area and was very active on the local Licensed Contractors Association, also serving on the Road District for several years.

He was a long-time member and served on the board of the Scottsdale Boys & Girls Club. Gil was also involved with the Verde Vaqueros, attending their annual outings and trail rides.

He will always be remembered as a friendly and outgoing person, especially helpful in donating his time and talent to charitable projects here and in the valley.

A memorial service was held Thursday, July 19, 2007, at Green Acres Chapel at McKellips and Hayden roads in Scottsdale.
