Roy Dowding Hoffman, 84, of Farmington, N.M. died Saturday at San Juan Medical Center. Mr. Hoffman was a native of Otisco. He owned and operated a dairy farm near Skaneateles for many years. In 1948, he moved the operation to Arizona. At 53, Mr. Hoffman graduated from Grand Canyon College and taught for the Bureau of Indian Affairs in Arizona for eight years. Surviving are his wife, Lela; two sons, Joseph of Tacna, Ariz., and Daniel of Scottsdale, Ariz.; five daughters, Ann Hoffman of Seattle, Wash., Sylvia Rawlings of Cincinnati, Ohio, Christine Bethard of Rohnert Park, Calif., Patty Currie of Mount Pleasant, Mich., and Yvonne Gilbert of Spring, Texas; a stepson, Ralph VanZandt of Aztec, Ariz.; four stepdaughters, Mertice Fagerlie of Glendale, Ariz., Earline Morrison of Lakeside, Ariz., Raye Lampinen of Atlantic Mine, Mich., and Audrey Bell of DeBeque, Colo.; a sister, Evangeline Kaiser of Tully; 44 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren. Services were May 30, 1995, at Mesa View Baptist Church, Farmington, N.M. Burial will be in Memory Gardens. Brewer and Lee Funeral Home, Farmington were in charge of arrangements.
