Sydney Rochelle Browning

Sydney Rochelle Browning, a loving daughter, sister and gifted teacher, died suddenly Wednesday, Sept. 15, 1999, at the Fort Worth church where she was director of the children's choir.

A celebration of Sydney's life was held Saturday at Truett Auditorium on the campus of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Friends may call at Benbrook Funeral Home on Saturday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Sydney was born May 14, 1963, in Bisbee, Ariz., to Don and Diana Browning. She was a graduate of Grand Canyon College in Phoenix, Ariz. and received her master's degree in religious education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth.

Music was Sydney's gift to her friends, family and to the students that she taught at Success High School in Fort Worth, where she was awarded Fort Worth ISD's Teacher of the Year Award twice.

Sydney enjoyed hiking, biking and spending time with her family, especially her two precious nephews, Samuel and Seth.

Survivors are her parents, Don and Diana Browning; sister, Shannon Carter and her husband, Kenny; nephews, Samuel and Seth, all of Phoenix; along with many dear friends and former students who will miss her very much.
