The Camp Verde Bugle, Camp Verde, Arizona Tuesday, August 18, 2009 John Carl Pippin, Sr., 77 of Cottonwood, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2009. He was born February 4, 1932, in Hoatville, CA, to Elmer and Pansy Pippin. Mr. Pippin attended Heber School for eight years. He then worked as a heavy equipment operator and retired at 60 years old. Mr. Pippin enjoyed radio-controlled planes. The Imperial Valley Press honored his plane as Bicentennial Plane of the Year. Mr. Pippin is preceded in death by wife Carol Marie Pippin and son James Lee Pippin. He is survived by sons John Carl Pippin, Jr. (Anita) and Jerry Lynn Pippin (Misha) of Cottonwood; daughters Janice Carol Choate (Gene) of Oklahoma and Jeannie Marie Price of Payson, AZ; brother Ray Pippin (Jean) of Page Springs, AZ; cousin Sylvia Patterson of Cottonwood; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held Friday, August 21, at Cottonwood Cemetery at 11 a.m.. VFW Post 7400 will provide military honors.
