The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ March 1, 1940 Funeral Held For Maurice Ostdiek Funeral services for Maurice Ostdiek, 23 years’ old, were held Monday morning at 10:30 from the St. Anthony’s Catholic church. Requiem Mass was sung by Father William. Maurice had been a resident of Wickenburg during the past five years, coming here from Ottumwa, Ia. He was employed by Paul Hannon for sometime and prior to his illness was in the employ of the Wickenburg Ore Market. Following an attack of the flu complications set in and he passed away a few days after being admitted to the hospital. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Olive Dery Ostdiek, a seven weeks old son, Daniel Fredrick, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Ostdiek of Ottumwa, four sisters and four brothers of Iowa and California. Sunday evening at 7:30 the Rosary was prayed at the Coffinger mortuary chapel, and at the time the Requiem Mass was said here preceding burial in the Wickenburg cemetery, a Requiem High Mass was being said in the Ottumwa cathedral, offered by the alumni of the high school where Maurice was a student.
