Boetto At Her Home Mrs. John Boetto, pioneer resident of Wickenburg, passed away shortly after noon Wednesday at her home in Wickenburg, following an extended illness. A Native of Italy, in which country she was born on June 21, 1878, Mrs. Boetto moved to Wickenburg in 1907 and with her husband had occupied continuously since then one of a residences built by Henry Wickenburg, founder of the town. After purchasing the property, the Boettos remodeled and made extensive improvements to the original adobe. Word of his mother’s death was communicated to Chief Petty Officer Tony Boetto, on duty in the South Pacific, by radio. He is the only child. The husband also survives. Funeral arrangements had not been completed at a late hour Wednesday and were awaiting receipt of word from the son. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ March 8, 1945 Boetto Rites Held Sunday A large group of her friends assembled at the Wickenburg chapel last Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock to pay their last respects to Mrs. John Boetto, pioneer Wickenburg resident who passed away at her home here the preceding Wednesday afternoon. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. William Barclay of the First Baptist church and burial took place in the Wickenburg cemetery. At the chapel services, vocal numbers were given by Mr. and Mrs. Margaret Harris at the piano. Pallbearers were John Kelis, H. E. Dunkin, T. McGowan, Walter Dumont, J. R. Dean and Charles Shontz. Word of his mother’s death was sent by radio to the only child, a son, Tony, on duty in the South Pacific, but no word had come from him by Tuesday morning of this past week. See Also: Find A Grave |
