The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Thursday, August 27, 2009 Albert L. Alexander, 87, passed away Aug. 24, 2009, at Pueblo Del Norte in Scottsdale, Ariz. He was born Nov. 27, 1921, in Minneapolis, Minn. A private cremation will take place at the Bradshaw Crematory in Prescott Valley, Ariz. Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home assisted the family with final arrangements. -------------------------------------------- Albert L. Alexander 11/27/1921 - 8/24/2009 Albert L. Alexander died Monday, August 24, 2009 at Pueblo Del Norte Hospice in Scottsdale, AZ. He was born November 27, 1921 in Minneapolis, MN; the son of Albert L., Sr. and Myrtle Hope (Kimball) Alexander. Albert was 87 years old. Albert was a member of St. Luke's, SCORE, and the American Institute of Mining Engineers. He enjoyed working in the garden, volunteering with SCORE and at St. Luke's Episcopal Church. Albert was very proud about raising his children and being able to work with other people. Albert is survived by his loving and caring wife, Juanita Alexander, of 64 years; sons Todd (Nancy) Alexander of Scottsdale, AZ and Peter (Celeste) Alexander of Seal Rock, OR; grandchildren Adrianne and Craig. Albert is preceded in death by his son James Alexander. "Sam" Alexander, 87, a longtime resident of Prescott, Ariz., passed away Aug. 24, 2009, in Scottsdale, Ariz. Sam was born in Minneapolis and raised in Brainerd, Minn. He was a graduate of the University of Minnesota. Sam served three years during WWII as a sergeant in the Army stationed in Bermuda as a radio operator and an Air Corps weather observer. In 1948, Sam began his 31-year career at Phelps Dodge as a mining engineer in Morenci. In 1979, he and Nita retired to Prescott, where he was active in SCORE and St. Luke's Vestry. Sam is survived by his wife of 64 years, Juanita (Nita); sons Todd and wife Nancy of Scottsdale and Peter and wife Celeste of Oregon; as well as grandchildren Adrienne (husband Garr) and Craig. Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Sept. 12, 2009, at St Luke's Episcopal, Prescott. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to The Alzheimer's Association, Arizona Humane Society or St. Luke's Vestry. Information provided by survivors. |
