Mrs. A. J. Kellis, 80, Dies At Home Here

Mrs. Hattie Jane Martin Kellis, pioneer resident of Wickenburg, passed away at her home here on Saturday, June 10th, of the infirmities of old age. She had been in failing health for many months. Mrs. Kellis was past 80 years of age, having been born October 16th, 1863, in Texas. She had lived in Wickenburg for the past 37 years.

Funeral services were held at 5 p.m. Thursday at the Wickenburg Chapel, conducted by Rev. Wm. Barclay and Rev. Ross B. Cleeland.

Burial was in the Wickenburg cemetery.

Mrs. Kelllis is survived by her husband, Augustus J. Kellis, to whom she was married on September 2nd, 1880; and seven children, Mrs. Paul B. Hannon of Wickenburg; John D. Kellis, Wickenburg; Nora L. Young, Redlands, Calif.; James A. Kellis, Springfield, Oregon; and William S. Kellis, Mesa, Ariz. Her youngest son, Burnice B., lost his life in World War I. Surviving also are 18 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. W. F. Kellis of Mayer, Ariz., and one sister and one brother residing in Texas.

All of the surviving children except James. A. Kellis of Springfield, Oregon, whose wife is critically ill, were here for the funeral services.
