| The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ December 8, 1939 Funeral Held For Bert H. Ward Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 Saturday afternoon for Bert H. Ward, Arizona resident for 53 years, who passed away in the Phoenix Hospital Wednesday following a brief illness. Rev. Paul Cooper officiated at the services, which were held at the Wickenburg Chapel. Mr. Ward, a carpenter by trade, was born at Suffield, Conn., and with another carpenter, Mr. Paul came to Wickenburg in 1927 to build the Bass residence. Since that time he had bade his home here, building many residences and continuing in the carpenter work until a short time ago when he was taken ill. A niece, who arrived here for the funeral services, is the only known relative. Interment was made in the Wickenburg cemetery, with Howard L. Coffinger in charge. See Also: Find A Grave |
