Lewis James (Jim) McAllister

Lewis James “Jim” McAllister was born May 22, 1928 in Richmond, Calif. He passed away April 4 at North Ranch, Congress, Ariz. He was 77 years and 10 months old.

Jim graduated from Richmond High School in 1947. He was a member of the Operating Engineers during the 1950s doing dredging in California.

He moved to Modesto, Calif., in 1969. He retired from Mid Cal Aluminum (Gallo Wine Closure Mfg.) June 1, 1990 after 21 years. He was a foreman/mechanic.

Jim bought a place at North Ranch in 1997 as a winter visitor. He became a permanent Arizona resident in 2001.

He was a member of the Wickenburg Elks and a lifetime member of the Escapees, including a Charter Member of Chapter 38.

Jim is survived by his loving wife Earlene of 30 years, of North Ranch, Congress, Ariz.; daughter Kathleen Noll of Rossmoor, Calif.; brother Robert McAllister of Richmond, Calif.; stepsons Gus Brumm of Rineyville, Ky., Joe Righetti of Ceres, Calif.; stepdaughters Cheryl McGray of Santa Maria, Calif.; Nancy Righetti of Washougal, Wash.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his little kitty companion Miss Cali.

He loved traveling, his computer and his family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at the North Ranch Clubhouse in Congress, Ariz., on Saturday (April 15) at 3 p.m.
