Naomi Laverne Hutchison Callaway was born in 1912 in Woods County, Okla., to William and Rosa Keen Hutchison. Naomi attended school in the country and in Enid, finishing with high school in Alva, Okla.

In 1931, she married James G. Callaway, and to this union four children were born, Mary Lynn, J.D., Naomi Kay and Yvetta Lea.

Naomi and Jim lived north of Quinlan, Okla., where they were engaged in farming and ranching. Naomi was very active in her church and extension clubs, and - as most women of her day - cooked for many hands.

In 1952 the family moved to Presho, S.D., where they farmed, ranched and operated a restaurant until 1963, when they moved to Arizona for Jim's health. They traveled back and forth between South Dakota and Arizona until 1983, when they moved to Arizona permanently. Naomi was such a glowing inspiration to her children and grandchildren, and carried her beauty with her to the nursing home where she passed away on April 6.

She was preceded in death by her parents William and Rosa Hutchison; husband James Callaway; daughter Mary Lynn Hula; son-in-law Ron Boe; great-granddaughters Darcie Boe and Kadee Iversen; brothers Warren, Bill, Frank, Alfred, Melvin, Glenn and Norvel; sisters Etta Blankenship, infant sister Roberta, Mattie Armour and Leona Moore.

Naomi leaves to mourn her passing and celebrate her life son J.D. (Kay) Callaway of Brookshire, Texas; daughters Naomi Kay Boe of Fort Pierre, S.D., Yvetta (Keith) Iversen, and son-in-law Joseph Hula, Jr., of Wickenburg, Ariz.; grandchildren Darrel Hintz, John Glenn Hula, Steven Boe, Seversen Boe, Sheri Grimsgaard, Jamie Skladzien, Ann Dee Pencik, Kerri Iversen, Carol Martin and Curtis Iversen; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Services and interment will take place in Waynoka, Okla., on Friday, April 14.

Arrangements were entrusted to Wickenburg Funeral Home.
