Leonor “Huera” G. Jimenez, 83, Hayden, devoted and loving wife, mother, “Nana,” sister and friend, suffered a massive stroke June 12 and on Monday, June 13, 2005, went home to be with the Lord. At the time of her death, she was surrounded by family and friends.

Mrs. Jimenez was born Sept. 22, 1921, in Flagstaff, but resided all her life in Hayden.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Frank “Pancho” Jimenez of Hayden; daughters, Virgie (Richard) Lease of Hayden, Gracie (Frankie) Calderon of Mesa and Mary Dee (Roger) Jimenez-Camarena of Chandler; granddaughters, Marisa Calderon, Leonor Camarena and Raquel Camarena; grandsons, Frank Lease, Richard (Susie) Lease and Frank Calderon II; great-grandson, Frank Charles Lease Jr.; sisters, Socorro Cruz of Hayden, Carmen Cota and Juanita Pacheco, both of Phoenix, and Patsy Rios of Stockton, California; brothers, Rey Garcia and Enrique Garcia, both of Phoenix, Fidel Garcia of Whittier, California, and Rudy Garcia of Stockton, California; and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Jimenez was a woman of great compassion and unconditional love who lived her life with grace. She was not rich in material things, but rich in friends and family. She was not world famous, but renowned for her cooking and love of parties. Unkind words were not a part of her vocabulary and there wasn’t one thing that she didn’t do when asked. She will forever have a very special place in the hearts of those she touched and will be missed greatly.

The Rosary was recited for Mrs. Jimenez Sunday evening at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Hayden. The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated by Father Dale Branson Monday morning also at St. Joseph’s. Interment followed at Mountain View Cemetery in Hayden.

Griffith Mortuary assisted the family with funeral arrangements.
