The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ July 19, 2006, p. B6 William (Bill) James Baumgartner, 77, of Wickenburg passed away peacefully with his family in Phoenix, Ariz., on July 15. Bill was born in 1928 in Marshfield, Wis., to Harry and Margaret Baumgartner. He enlisted in the U. S. Army in 1946 and served in Korea until 1948. In 1948 he married Carol Jean Lindow in Chili, Wis., and in 1969 moved from Wisconsin to Scottsdale, Ariz. In 1978 he moved to Wickenburg and made this his hometown for the last 28 years. Bill was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where he was a faithful member and also served as an Elder and Deacon. He was also a member of the Wickenburg Lions Club, VFW Post 285, AARP Association, FOF Association Seventh Infantry Division, and a We Care volunteer. Bill is survived by his daughter Mary Baumgartner Clark; son-in-law Mark Clark; grandchildren April, Sabrina, Nolan and Christopher; great-granddaughter Taylor Nicole; two sisters and their husbands Joyce and Jerry Wagner and Mae and Rueben Frome; sister-in-law and husband Ardith and Frank Arbelousky; sister-in-law Nancy Baumgartner; and 13 nieces and nephews and 14 great-nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Carol in 1995, daughter Linda in 1957, son Larry in 1963 and his brother Wayne in 1991. A memorial service will be held on Thursday (July 20) at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church located at 180 N. Adams Street in Wickenburg. Graveside services will be held Saturday (July 22) at 8:30 a.m. at the Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary and Cemetery, 2300 W. Van Buren Avenue, Phoenix, Ariz. |
