The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ July 26, 2006, p. B6 Joe McKinney, 60, formerly of Ft. Worth, Texas, more recently of Wittman, Ariz., died Sunday night, July 16 in Fargo, N.D., of a heart attack. A memorial service will be held on August 5, at the Wittman Assembly of God Church, at 10 a.m. Joe's family suggests that friends may honor his memory by making contributions to Wide Horizons For Children Adoption Agency, 460 Totten Pond Road, Waltham, MA 02451. Joe was born October 3, 1945 in Collinsville, Texas, to Frank and Hazel (Vannoy) McKinney. He moved to Ft. Worth, Texas, in 1947, where he graduated in 1964 from Brewer High School in White Settlement. Joe had an outstanding football record there. He moved to Wittman, Ariz., several years ago where he lived with his loving family until his death. He was a truck driver for more than 40 years, most recently with Triangle Transport. Joe was loved by all who met him. He will be remembered as the guy that never met a stranger. He loved life and lived it to the fullest! He will live in our hearts forever. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Charles McKinney and his eldest daughter Arlette Deequita McKinney. He is survived by his loving wife Linda (Roth) McKinney of Wittman, Ariz.; sons Bradley Brown of Wittman, Joe Don Chambers-McKinney of Weatherford, Texas; daughters Tracy Lynn Collins of Denver, Colo., Misty McKinney and Cortni McKinney of Houston, Texas, Melissa Crouley of Chino Valley, Ariz., Denna Welcher of Wittman, Ariz., and Michelle Welcher of Indianapolis, Ind. He leaves a brother J. C. McKinney and his wife Dorothy of White Settlement, Texas and one sister Patsy Clark and her husband Dudley of Natick, Mass.; also seventeen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, two nieces and three nephews, along with many cousins in Texas and numerous friends across the nation. |
