William “Bill” Moreland passed away on Saturday morning, July 22 at home in Wittmann after a lengthy illness.

A memorial service is planned for Saturday, August 19 at 10 a.m. at New Song United Methodist Church, 16305 W. Bell Road in Surprise. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Vista Care Hospice.

Bill was born in St. Clair County, Mo., at home on April 30, 1939 to Harvey and Beulah (Stephens) Moreland.

Throughout his working career he was a Boilermaker and in business as a welder. When his health prevented him from working in welding, he worked for many years in his wife's business doing deliveries and public relations for RAM Medical Transcription.

Bill has lived in the Wittmann area 20 years and has many friends through his morning coffee at the Country Kitchen and square dancing. When not working, he loved to take his boat and go out to the lake all night long fishing.

Bill is survived by his wife of 27 years Redessa, a sister Jean, and brothers Paul and Tom, two daughters, three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his parents.

His family and friends are comforted knowing that Bill is now home with the Lord.
