Fern Eileen (Watts) Curless

Fern E. Curless of Mesa, AZ, passed away on December 15, 2003, at the Carl T. Hayden Veterans Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ. She was born Fern Eileen WATTS to Lynn J. WATTS and Ruth ROOF WATTS, on August 10, 1927, in Hedrick, Iowa.

She served in the U.S. Air Force, 1952 with an honorable discharge.

She received a B.S. in Physical Therapy from the University of Kansas in May 1955. She was a licensed physical therapist in Texas, Kansas and Missouri. She was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.

She married William T. CURLESS on April 3, 1955, and was divorced in 1975.

She is survived by three sons: Douglas W. CURLESS of Sun City West, AZ; Jay A. CURLESS of Phx, AZ; and Craig E. CURLESS of Phoenixville, PA. She is survived by four grandchildren: Dr. Kim GOODWIN of San Diego, CA; Eric CURLESS of Phx, AZ; and Renae and Brian CURLESS of Phoenixville, PA. She is also survived by seven brothers and sisters: Carol DAILEY of Eldon, IA; Frances KAHLER of Garwin, IA; Fred WATTS of Priest Lake, ID; Vivian MORFITT of Nevada, IA; George WATTS of Ottumwa, IA; Janet WATTS of Spencer, NE; and Lynda WATTS of Fremont, IA. She was predeceased by her sister, Marian STARK, of Niobrara, NE, and her parents of Hedrick, IA.

Her remains will be interred on December 30th at the National Veterans Cemetery, Phoenix.
